Wonderful Secret
Text: 1 Corinthians 15:50-55
Theme: Complete transformation is coming for all who know Him.
Key verses: “But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?'” (v. 51-55).
What I believe God said to me: You have victory, Dwayne. You aren’t working toward victory; you are working from victory. You will be transformed. You will be glorified. You will be changed into the image of my dear Son. You have no reason to ever feel down or defeated. You can overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony and by not loving your life so much that you are afraid to die for me. This is the “wonderful secret,” the “mystery,” that Paul shared with the Church at Corinth. Everyone who knows my Son will be changed–completely transformed–by my power. When the last trumpet sounds, nothing you are concerned about and nothing that weighs you down will ever bother you again. All will be peace and joy and love and pure worship in my forever presence. Meditate on this awesome truth today. Let it pour over you and encourage you today. You have put your hand to the plow. You aren’t looking back. You are weary and worn from the struggles of this life and the responsibilities I’ve placed on you. But none of this will compare to the surpassing greatness of seeing and knowing and worshiping me one day. That day is quickly approaching. Be ready. Stay diligent and humble. Keep telling all you can about my wonderful hope. Share the Gospel Good News with every person you have the opportunity to talk with. “Surely I am coming quickly.”
What I said to God. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
