Grace Today

Text: Philippians 4:21-23

Theme: Sending greetings and grace were both priorities to Paul.

Key verses: “Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings. All God’s people here send you greetings…The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen” (v. 21-23).

What God said to me: Son, I know you woke this morning with doubts and discouragement. Put on the garment of praise for your spirit of heaviness. I am the constant in your life that will never change and who has and always will love and guide you. Listen to me–listen carefully. Humble yourself in my sight and trust me. Commit your way to me and I will bring it to pass. Go to your church this morning and blow out the praise time loving on me and getting yourself refocused. Listen to what my servant will preach. I have something I want you to hear. And while you’re there, greet and encourage as many people as you can. That was Paul’s heart. After so much careful teaching to the Church at Philippi he didn’t suddenly close this letter with a mindless, habitual benediction. He meant every word he wrote to them. He genuinely cared for them, and his greetings and the grace he prayed upon them were heart-felt. Be that way today, Dwayne. Just be in the moment. Don’t worry about tomorrow or next week or next year. You can’t control or predict any of the future. Live today; love today; share my love with someone today.

What I said to God: Wow, Lord, thank You for moving in my heart and coming to my aid this morning. You saw my discouragement and spoke directly to me about it. Praise Your awesome name! I commit this day to You and trust You to use me today.
