Immediately Saul Began

01. November 2014 Acts 0

Text: Acts 9:19-30
Theme: Saul immediately preached, immediately grew, and immediately faced opposition.
Key verses: “And immediately he began preaching about Jesus in the synogogues, saying, ‘He is indeed the Son of God'” (v. 19b-20). “Saul’s preaching became more and more powerful, and the Jews…couldn’t refute his proofs that Jesus was indeed the Messiah. After a while some of the Jews plotted together to kill him” (v. 22-23). “So Saul stayed with the apostles and went all around Jerusalem with them, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord. He debated with some Greek-speaking Jews, but they tried to murder him” (v. 28-29).
What God said to me: Son, sometimes you lack immediacy. Paul never hesitated to share his faith and share it boldly with anyone he could. Where is that zeal in you? Look at the results for Paul. He immediately began to grow in his preaching abilities and in his preaching opportunities. The untold (but certainly implied) story is that Paul also immediately began to study and apply my Word to his life after his conversion. He knew immediately what he firmly believed about my Son and about salvation. Know what you know, and go with what you know. That’s what Paul did. He didn’t wait until he had finished a seminary education or got man’s approval or until he understood everything. He immediately went–and he never stop being immediate. Whenever he saw a need or an opportunity to preach or help someone. he went right then toward that need. Learn from Paul’s example. I need to know I can trust you to immediately obey me whenever and whevever I speak to you.
What I said to God: Father, thank You, holy Lord, for speaking to me so clearly this morning. I’m sorry I’ve been lazy and not journaled like this in a long while. I have no excuse. Please, Holy Spirit, grant me some supernatural motivation to get up early and invest time with You each morning. And help me boldly share my faith whenever and wherever I has the opportunity.
