Go Right In

Text: Hebrews 10:19-22
Theme: Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we can go into God’s presence with complete confidence.
Key verses: “And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water” (v. 19-23a).
What God said to me: Dwayne, try to imagine yourself living back in the days when this passage was first written and read. Put yourselves in the shoes of those who had grown up going to a temple and seeing the curtains to the Most Holy Place but knowing they could never go in lest they die. Sense the fear and awe they had for the Holy of Holies and for the priests who had such privileged access. Now, imagine hearing the words that they could now enter the Most Holy Place; they could now go where no human (other than high priests) could go. This news is old hat to you, but it shouldn’t be. It can never be just routine and ho-hum to come into my presence. It cost the blood and life of my precious Son for you to have such freedom of entry! You have been made clean–both your soul and your body are acceptable in my sight because of the sacrifice Jesus made for you at Calvary. Never lose sight of the awful price that paid so you can come boldly into my throne room. So, I invite you to come right in; dine with me; commune with me as with a friend; bow to me as your Lord and Master; worship me as your God.
What I said to God: Father, I adore You. Lay my life before You. How I love You. Thank You for the awesome price You paid on the cross to purchase my redemption and grant me forever access into the throne room of almighty God. I am amazed and thankful. Please help me die to myself today. Help me come alive to You and obey You and follow Your every prompting today. Thank You for the man and wife that John led to You last night. Please help them grow to love You and follow You. Heal that man of his cancer and give him many more days to be Your light if that is Your perfect will.
