You Can’t Explain It

10. February 2016 John 0

Text: John 3:4-16
Theme: Just no explaining God’s life and love
Key verses: “Jesus replied, ‘I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit…So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit'” (v. 5-8). “‘But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?” (v. 12). “‘As Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life. For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life'” (v. 14-16).
What God said to me: A lot, I want to say a lot to you, but are you ready to listen? Are you ready to accept by faith all I have to show you? If you don’t believe me in the simple things you can relate to, how can you believe about things you’ve never seen and truths you’ve never heard? Every single person you will meet today is someone I died for. Do you believe that? Do you really believe that? Every person you come in contact with is someone I gave up my Son for, someone I do not wish to perish but to have eternal life. I want to replace their old stony heart with a new heart and give them spiritual birth. I can’t explain it to you in a way your human finite mind can comprehend it. But by my grace you can believe it, embrace it and understand and see the effects of it. My love is so incomprehensible. I created you, your world, your galaxy and the millions more galaxies you don’t know about. I can do whatever I want. No one controls me or determines my character and actions. Yet, I choose to love you as my own, to be a Father to you, and to unconditionally have compassion on you and every person in this world. You can’t explain it adequately, and you won’t fully grasp it for all eternity. But you can believe it, and you can share my love with every person you meet today.
What I said to God: Father, Lord, Savior, Friend, Your ways are truly above my ways and Your thoughts are beyond my thoughts. I accept by child-like faith what I will never fully understand or be able to explain with my mind. I am humbled and thrilled that You, the King of all glory, would choose to love me. Forgive me when I don’t see every person as someone You completely, unconditionally love, someone You died to save. Just as You have never given up on me, may I never give up praying for and loving on others.
