God’s Awesome Power Through His Followers

04. December 2007 Joshua 0

Text: Joshua 23:1-11 Theme: God’s devoted children are powerful because He is powerful through them. Key verses: “You yourself have seen everything the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the Lord your God who fought for you.” (v. 3) “Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left. Do not associate with these nations that remain among you…But you are to hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have until now.” (v. 6-8) “The Lord has driven out before you great and powerful nations; to this day no one has been able to withstand you. One of you routs a thousand, because the Lord your God fights for you, just as he promised. So be very careful to love the Lord your God.” (v. 9-11) What God said to me: Dwayne, I really don’t need to give commentary on this. What I have already said is clear and easy to understand. If you want to know what I am saying to you and to all my children today, go back and reread this entire chapter. Dwayne, you can and will rout a thousand. Nothing will stand in your way of accomplishing feats that would boggle the minds of the lost and disconnected person. Those who don’t know me are completely disconnected from your source of power – me. My people have my power working through them. You can do all things through my Son who strengthens you. If you can dream it, you can do it – but only if your dreams are my dreams and your desires are my desires; only if your power is really my power working through you. And you’ll have no godly dreams, desires or power if you do not love me with your whole heart… What I said to God: Precious Holy One, Holy and Anointed One, my Savior and my God and my Power and Strength, thank You for meeting with me this morning and for speaking through Your written Word, which is Your final and ultimate authorative Word. Forgive me when I get discouraged about our ministry and about my personal and family life. Sometimes I feel like I am helpless and powerless against the enemy that seeks to destroy me and all I hold dear. I look at this vision and dream you have given me, and I shake my head in doubt that it could ever come even close to happening. Yet, again today, you remind me that my only job is to remain faithful to you and keep claiming the land and territory that You have already given to me. Wow, what an awesome Word, and what an awesome God you are.
